Porsche 930-based Lanzante TAG Championship to debut at Goodwood

6 years ago, Lanzante showcased a Porsche 930 with a Formula 1 engine mounted at the back. Building on the same concept, the company will soon unveil a new car called the TAG Championship – a lighter and more powerful version.

The Lanzante TAG Championship will make its dynamic debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed later this year. The first of the three cars planned is called the Championship ’85. It features an engine that raced in the 1984, 1985 and 1986 seasons.

Speaking of the engine, it’s a 1.5-litre twin-turbo V6 reworked by Cosworth. It features new pistons, conrods, valve cams and lightweight turbos, resulting in 625 hp and 10,250 rpm redline. The engine is paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox from the 993 Porsche 911, which should help the car reach a top speed of 200 mph.
