Two arrested onsuspicion of murder in disappearance of ‘SNL’ writer’s sister

The boyfriend of an “SNL” writer’s sister who mysteriously vanished from Los Angeles has been arrested on suspicion of murder in the woman’s death.

Delorean Bijon Brandon, the boyfriend of Christina Downer, 38, was arrested alongside a second suspect, Kaylee Nicole Markowski, after Downer disappeared in late November 2025, NBC Los Angeles reported. Downer is the sister of “SNL” writer Jimmy Fowlie.

Police arrested Brandon Friday in Highland Park, while Markowski was picked up in Tarzana, police said. Both are being held on $2 million bail.

Investigators believe the pair dumped Downer’s body and covered up the crime, NBC LA reported.

The bombshell development comes as investigators continue unraveling the disturbing case after Downer disappearance sparked a desperate search and allegations that someone hijacked her social media accounts to cover up what happened.

The shocking breakthrough follows an extensive police search earlier this month at an Airbnb property in the Joshua Tree area, where detectives descended on the desert location hunting for clues.

Investigators from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Robbery-Homicide Division, assisted by K-9 units and the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, combed the property for evidence connected to Downer’s disappearance.

Police declined at the time to confirm whether they were searching for human remains.

Downer was last heard from on Nov. 26, 2025, before being reported missing the following month.

She was last seen in LA’s Koreatown neighborhood, and her sudden disappearance immediately alarmed loved ones, who insisted she would never voluntarily cut off contact.

“This is not like her, she’s never gone off the grid like this,” Fowlie wrote in a frantic Instagram appeal in December.

The comedian also revealed that his sister was rarely without her beloved miniature pinscher, Rex, suggesting the dog might help someone recognize her.

The mystery took a sinister turn in April when Fowlie announced that his family had been informed Downer was dead.

“The LAPD has informed our family that Christina is no longer alive, and the case has officially transitioned from a missing person to a homicide investigation,” he wrote in an emotional April 29 post.

The LAPD quickly disputed that account, saying Downer had not been located and her disappearance had not officially been reclassified as a homicide.

“Although the circumstances of her disappearance are suspicious, Ms. Downer has not been located, and her case has not been reclassified as a homicide,” police said at the time.

Fowlie also made the disturbing allegation that someone had gained control of his sister’s phone and social media accounts in the weeks surrounding her disappearance.

The family believes the person or people responsible used her accounts to solicit money and concoct an elaborate story that Downer had willingly abandoned her life.

“The individual(s) in possession of her phone used it to hide the fact she was gone, to ask for money, and to create a false narrative that she was going ‘off the grid,’” Fowlie wrote.

In one particularly eerie twist, a bizarre holiday message appeared on Downer’s Instagram account Dec. 14, weeks after her family last heard from her.

“Living life in peace. If you wanna send me a Christmas treat I’ll be waiting. Happy holidays everyone,” the post read.

Social media users later questioned the suspicious message after noticing the accompanying photo appeared to have been recycled from an earlier Instagram Story.

Authorities have not publicly confirmed that Downer’s accounts were compromised or identified who published the unsettling post.

As the case gained national attention, celebrities and entertainment industry colleagues rallied around Fowlie and his family.
