Usually, these kinds of anniversary stories have a nice, round number attached to them — 25 years since, 50 years since, 100 years since. This one doesn’t. This one notes a forgotten piece of baseball history that seems awfully relevant all of a sudden, 

Today, we remember Nov. 23, 1943. 

Today, we remember the day when William D. Cox was thrown out of baseball by the sport’s most famous hanging judge, Kenesaw Mountain Landis.
