Last week, Manny Khoshbin took delivery of his Bugatti Bolide. It’s only the second car delivered to the United States. The first one was delivered by Team CJ Works in Austin, TX.
The Bolide arrived at Bugatti Newport Beach in a massive wooden box. The car was unboxed in the presence of the owner and a few enthusiasts. In a video posted on Youtube, Manny reveals that the delivery of his Bolide was delayed by 3 months, and the reason for it is quite interesting.
Unlike the launch spec, which had a two-tone exterior in blue and black, Manny wanted his Bolide to have a more sinister look. So he chose a full black spec with little blue details here and there. Now for the interesting bit – the decals you see on the car are not stickers but are painted. Hence, the delay in delivery.
The Bolide is Bugatti’s ultimate track hypercar. Only 40 examples are being produced with a price tag of $4 million. It is powered by Bugatti’s legendary 8.0-liter W16 engine, which produces 1577 hp and 1180 lb-ft of torque. The car weighs just 1450 kg (dry).
