900 hp Chinese SUV Zeekr 9X aims to rival Audi Q9, Mercedes GLS

A new Chinese luxury SUV, called the Zeekr 9X, is aiming straight at established giants like the new Audi Q9, BMW X7, and Mercedes GLS in Europe but with a distinctly different approach.

At first glance, the styling would look familiar. There’s more than a hint of Rolls-Royce influence in its upright stance and bold front-end design. It’s imposing, premium, and clearly built to stand out.

Europe will receive the 9X as a six-seater, powered by Zeekr’s “Super Hybrid” setup. This pairs a 2.0-litre engine with dual electric motors, delivering a combined output of up to 897 hp. Performance is strong too—0–62 mph takes just 4.1 seconds, while total range stretches to an impressive 458 miles.

Charging is another highlight. In China, the available battery packs can go from 10 to 80% in just 9.5 minutes, probably a new benchmark in this segment.

Inside the Zeekr 9X, there is a lot of tech and luxury. A 32-speaker Naim audio system, a 47-inch head-up display, a 13-inch anti-glare infotainment screen, a central 16-inch, 3.5k OLED infotainment system, LiDAR-assisted driving tech, and even a built-in refrigerator for rear passengers.
