This month, Porsche set a new lap record at Interlagos in a 911 GT2 RS MR. Besides the lap record for gas-powered production cars, Porsche now holds the EV lap record at the famous Brazilian racetrack as well.
Brazilian ace driver Felipe Nasr recently set a new benchmark time for EVs at Interlagos. He took a Taycan Turbo GT around the twisty circuit in 1 min 42.1 second, beating the time set by the 911 Turbo S in the process. The latter had set a lap time of 1 min 43.087 seconds.
The Taycan Turbo GT is the most powerful Porsche EV you can buy. It packs 1092 hp, allowing the car to accelerate from 0-60 mph in just 2.1 seconds. It has a top speed of 190 mph. Naturally, it was quicker than the Taycan Turbo S, which clocked a 1 min 49.8 second lap in 2022.
The Taycan Turbo GT also holds the lap record at Laguna Seca and the Nurburgring Nordschleife.
