Porsche has released a teaser of what appears to be a street-legal Le Mans race car. It could be a highly exclusive 917-inspired supercar for the road based on the Porsche 963.
The video released by the company features a Porsche 917 driving down a public road. It is chassis no. 30, which was converted for road use exclusively for Italian businessman Gregorio Rossi di Montelera.
The teaser, though, shows a silhouette of a typical Le Mans machine with a low front scuttle, a roof scoop and a massive rear wing with large end plates. It looks quite similar to the 963.
This leads us to suspect that Porsche could be planning to showcase a street-legal version of the Porsche 963. Perhaps it’s a one-off for a very special customer.
While it’s merely speculation at this moment, we hope to find out what exactly Porsche is cooking soon. Either way, the car will be officially revealed in June 2025.
