Marlboro White McLaren F1 sold; 1 of only 2 in the world

Whenever a McLaren F1 comes up for sale, it often makes global headlines, primarily because of its price tag. However, one of the more recent F1s sold privately is worth covering because of its rarity.

A total of 106 McLaren F1s were built. Only 67 of these were standard F1s, while the remaining were variations of the same car. Among the 62 F1 road cars produced, only 2 were finished in Marlboro White, and this is one of them.

This 1995 McLaren F1 is chassis no. 53. The car was delivered new to Japanese racing team owner Kazumichi Goh. It has a clean white exterior and a blue interior with leather and Alcantara upholstery.

This particular example has just 802 miles on the odometer, making it one of the lowest-mileage and original examples in the world. It has a well-documented history and comes with the original factory tools, owner’s manuals and fitted luggage.

Unfortunately, we don’t know how much the new owner paid for this rare example. That being said, it would be safe to assume that it went for over $20 million.
