Lotus has recently announced its Focus 2030 plan for the future. However, apart from that, the company has also accidentally revealed the name of its upcoming hybrid V8 supercar.
Reports suggest that in the Focus 2030 plan, a “Type 135” codename has been mentioned multiple times. This is in line with the brand’s internal naming structure, similar to what we have seen earlier. Think Type 130 for the Evija, 131 for the Emira, and 132 for the Eletre.

As per the reports, the filenames of the teaser images provided in the press release contained the “Type 135” name. However, there was one file that was marked as “07007_Esprit_Teaser_Comp04_RS_FinalArt_9x16”. And that is what gave it away.
So the upcoming V8 supercar will be named the Lotus Esprit. Obviously, there is not much info available as of now. But it is being speculated that the vehicle will have around 1000 hp. And from the teaser image, we can infer that it will have slim LED taillamps separated by “LOTUS” lettering. There will be dual exhausts and a quite prominent rear diffuser.
