Ferrari has built a car for enthusiasts! Just weeks following the Luce debacle, we have the new 12Cilindri Manuale. It’s exactly what it says on the tin – a V12 Ferrari with a manual gearbox, sort of.
The Ferrari 12Cilindri Manuale comes equipped with “manual shift-by-wire command” and a “clutch-by-wire pedal” – two key innovations designed specifically to enhance the joy of driving. The setup is similar to Koenigsegg’s Engage Shift System (ESS), where the 8-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox can be operated via a 6-speed gated manual and a clutch pedal. The driver’s inputs are converted into digital signals that operate the transmission.

Under the bonnet is Ferrari’s familiar 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine. This unit delivers 819 hp @ 9250 rpm and 500 lb-ft @ 7250 rpm, which is slightly higher than the regular model. Ferrari claims a 0-62 mph time of 2.9 seconds and a top speed of 211 mph.

Ferrari has modified the exhaust to amplify the characteristic V12 howl. It also had to redesign the entire cooling system to meet the cooling requirements of the engine and ancillaries.
The aerodynamics package was tweaked with special focus on underbody aero surfaces. The car can now be configured in low drag or high-downforce configurations.
