Subaru redesigned the Crosstrek for 2024, giving it styling updates and a more comfortable interior. Its standard four-cylinder engine makes 152 horsepower, and the continuously variable automatic transmission works smoothly in most situations. Standard all-wheel drive helps it claw out of trouble and through challenging terrain, aided by generous ground clearance of 8.7 inches.
Inside, the Crosstrek has spacious seating for five people, though taller adults may find the backseat cramped, especially on longer drives. Dual 7-inch touch screens come standard with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The two screens can be confusing at first, and the system takes time to learn. Subaru also includes its excellent EyeSight safety tech, which includes adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist and pedestrian and cyclist detection.
