The upcoming Toyota GR GT is continuing its development, with an aggressive-looking test vehicle recently spotted driving on public roads in Long Beach, California.
The prototype stands out with a matte black body and contrasting glossy black roof. The matte finish could be serving as a form of camouflage, although there is little left to hide since the GR GT’s design has already been revealed through earlier prototypes and images.
What really catches the eye are the three red-and-white stripes at the rear. One runs between the taillights, while the other two sit on either side of the licence plate area in the rear bumper. They appear to be markings identifying the car as a test vehicle rather than a finished production model.
The latest sighting comes after Toyota tested both the GR GT and GR GT3 prototypes at California’s Laguna Seca circuit earlier this month. Seeing the road car out in traffic suggests development is continuing at a steady pace.
