General Motors is recalling 67,380 vehicles due to a software problem that can temporarily reduce or eliminate braking.
The recall covers several electric models, including the 2023–2027 Cadillac LYRIQ, 2025–2026 Cadillac CELESTIQ, 2024–2027 Chevrolet Blazer EV and 2026–2027 Cadillac VISTIQ.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) says the problem lies with the vehicles’ brake systems. In the Cadillac LYRIQ, the anti-lock braking system has reportedly released brake pressure unexpectedly, potentially affecting the driver’s ability to slow down or stop the vehicle.
Reports say GM has received 24 field reports related to the issue. These include 20 incidents involving minor accidents and two claims of minor injuries.
Owners of the affected models will be required to follow GM’s recall instructions and have the issue resolved through the prescribed solution.
