It’s summertime in the UK, and all the supercars are out of storage and onto the streets. London is currently teeming with fast and expensive machines as the supercar season is well and truly underway.
A McLaren F1 LM was recently spotted, and even by London standards, it’s a rare find. McLaren built just five examples of the F1 LM, and only two standard F1s were later modified to the LM specification. Apparently, this Papaya Orange example is chassis #2.
Unlike the standard McLaren F1, the LM-spec comes with the ‘High Downforce package’ that includes a fixed rear wing, a revised front air dam, and fender louvres. It also gets 5-spoke centre-locking wheels.
LM-spec cars also run on a modified 6.1-litre V12 naturally aspirated engine. The lack of restrictors means the engine produces 671 hp and 520 lb-ft of torque.
In 2019, a McLaren F1 modified into LM-spec was sold at RM Sotheby’s auction for just under $20 million.
