MN8 had a little something for you…but only if you would let them in!

British group MN8 formed in 1992 of ‘Kule T’, ‘KG’, ‘Dee Tails’ and ‘G-Man’ but it wasn’t until January 1995 that they released their debut single, “I’ve Got A Little Something For You”, that they really made their names. Signed to Columbia Records, and five weeks later, the song peaked at No.2 in the UK and would go top ten across Europe and ‘down under’ too. They followed this with “If You Only Let Me In” that Spring, which went to No.6 and topped the UK R&B chart. It gave the boys a mid-charting hit elsewhere.

In May 1995. MN8 released their debut album, “To The Next Level”, produced by Eternal hitmakers Dennis Charles and Ronnie Wilson, would gain a Silver certification in the UK and go Gold in France. A further top ten hit, “Happy”, was gained that Summer while “Baby It’s You” and “Pathway To The Moon” were top thirty successes. All five of the singles made the top ten on the R&B chart including two number ones. MN8 declared that it was a “Tuff Act To Follow” in 1996 when they released their next new song, and they were right. It debuted at No.15 and sank soon after. Both it and the follow up, “Dreaming”, were not successes elsewhere and when their second album, “Freaky”, bombed at the end of 1996, MN8 ‘parted ways’ with Columbia.

MN8 continued to tour into 1997, but unable to secure a new record deal, the foursome parted ways and called it a day. Little is known of what happened to the individual members but rapper ‘Dee Tails’ went on to become an actor appearing in big budget films from ‘Batman Begins’ in 2005 to ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ in 2015. However, in 2013, MN8 reformed and announced a new album, “Reloaded”. But to date (2023), the album has never materialised. ‘KG’ did record and release the song “Show U Love” on his own in late 2022, with reference on their official Facebook page that “we work on our new MN8 stuff”.
