Customer deliveries of the Ferrari F80 began last month. One of the first cars was delivered to the UK. Hopefully, these cars will be used and not just stored in a garage. Here’s Paul Rees demonstrating how they need to be driven.
This onboard POV was shot in Andalucia, Spain, where Paul can be seen thrashing the F80 around a twisty country road. The F80 looks mindbogglingly quick around corners. However, there’s something missing – a stimulating sound.
The F80’s twin-turbo V6 hybrid is no doubt extremely capable. But it lacks the hair-raising sound of a V12. As one commentator said, “it sounds like a LaFerrari screaming underwater.”
The F80 uses a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 engine that produces 900 hp. The internal combustion engine is paired with an electric front axle and an F1-derived MGU-K, which adds another 300 hp, taking the total output to 1200 hp.
