A unique and special Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren HDK was recently spotted in London. Only 12 SLR HDKs were built by MSO, and this is the final one. Freddie Atkins (@tfjj) got a chance to get up close with the SLR McLaren HDK and even got a ride in it.
The SLR McLaren HDK no.12 is finished in Volcano Orange – a popular shade from the McLaren colour palette. Adding contrast to the exterior are a lot of exposed carbon fibre parts. The centre section of the front clamshell is finished in gloss carbon, and so are the front splitter, rear diffuser and the massive fixed wing.
The supercar’s interior is trimmed in orange and black Alcantara. It was done by D:Class Automotive and even features laser-etched graphics. This car was presented at SEMA 2024 and received the ‘Fan Favourite Interior’ award.
While MSO has no plans to build any more SLR HDKs, we might see a limited number of SLR Roadsters getting the exclusive HDK treatment. Images of what is believed to be the first SLR Roadster HDK had surfaced online last month.
