Toyota GR GT name confirmed through leaked teaser

Toyota is all set to reveal its latest supercar next month. We’ve already seen it in concept form earlier, and now a leaked teaser has confirmed its official name. As expected, the new model will be called the Toyota GR GT.

The teaser also provides a glimpse of the production version. The GR GT has a long bonnet with short overhangs, similar to the iconic 2000 GT. It has a strong shoulder line and intakes on the rear fender, while the roofline blends seamlessly into the tail section. At the rear, the GR GT features a continuous LED light bar, a large diffuser and massive extractor vents.

However, during a recent media interaction, Takashi Uehara, powertrain president at Toyota, stated that a twin-turbo V8 hybrid engine is being developed for its flagship supercar. It is part of a new range of modular petrol engines that will include 1.5-liter and 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder units.
