Kylie raises the “Tension” with the title track of her new album!
Pop
With less than a month to go before the release of her sixteenth studio album, the tension builds with the release of Kylie’s new single…”Tension”, the title track of her new album!
Coming just over three months after the album’s lead single proper, “Padam Padam“, “Tension” is a 90’s sounding Pop-Dance anthem reminiscent of unused tracks from her 1994 album.
“Tension” has been written by Kylie, Anya Jones, British singer Kamille, Richard Stannard and Duck Blackwell, and is only the second album title track to be released by Kylie, “Golden” being the first in 2018. The track takes this era of her career in a different direction to “Padam Padam”, as Kylie harks back to her days as ‘DanceKylie’ with deConstruction in the mid-90’s. “Tension” – the album, is Kylie’s third studio release for BMG Rights Management and comes five years after her first (“Golden”) and 35 years after her debut album, “Kylie”, the album that featured three number one singles.
With all the media and public attention firmly back on Kylie following the release of “Padam Padam”, her biggest hit for more than a decade and her greatest global exposure since “Can’t Get You Out Of My Head“, 22 years ago, Kylie is set to deliver her first collection of Dance-Pop tunes since her Parlophone days and the tension is at feverpitch! “Padam Padam” put Kylie back in the UK top ten for the first time since “Higher” in early 2011 and also delivered a huge hit in America where it also went top ten on the US Dance chart and top 40 on the Mainstream singles chart.
Not only that, Kylie has fulfilled a lifetimes ambition to play Las Vegas in a series of sell out shows that start this Winter and carry on through into 2024. Following in the footsteps of Celine Dion, Shania Twain, Janet Jackson and many others, Kylie will draw from her 35 years plus in the industry and an enormous back catalogue of songs to deliver her own residency with that magical Minogue feel and style we have come to love and expect from her previous global spectaculars from Fever2002 to Aphrodite Les Folies.
Kylie has already delighted with a number of key performances this year, including her memorable star turn at Capital FM’s Summertime Ball at Wembley Stadium, Kylie’s first ever live gig at the venue, while she headlined Sydney Pride back home in Australia with sister Dannii. America has been Kylie’s focus this year with performances at Long Island Beach and on TV when she debuted “Padam Padam” on American Idol, Kylie is really working the world in readiness for her next, and potentially, biggest release ever.
Along with previous regulars Richard Stannard, Daniel Davidsen and Karen Poole, Kylie has written tracks for “Tension” with British singer Kamille, who releases her debut album on 8th September, American duo Loote (Jackson Foote and Emma Lov Block) and Duck Blackwell (Louis Tomlinson, The Wanted, Olly Murs). The album promises to be her most uptempo since “Aphrodite” and certainly since “Fever“, so no pressure there then!
