Ranking the top 10 running backs in 2025 NFL Draft

The Post’s Ryan Dunleavy gives his top 10 running backs in this year’s NFL draft, based on evaluations and conversations with people around the league:

1. Ashton Jeanty, Boise State, 5-8, 211

All-purpose back rushed for 2,601 yards last season — just shy of Barry Sanders’ NCAA record. Possesses all the shake, wiggle, speed and strength tools to force missed tackles. Chunk gains by the bunches. Ball security (nine fumbles over last two seasons) needs improvement.

2. Omarion Hampton, North Carolina, 6-0, 221

Big riser after standout combine performance. Weight-room warrior whose power and contact balance shows up between the tackles. Makes you miss and takes off. Needs to be gang-tackled. Three-down ability as a receiver on screens and pass protector.

3. Kaleb Johnson, Iowa, 6-1, 224

One-cut runner with the vision to create long runs. Packages finesse and power for any situation. Handled significant year-over-year uptick (from 117 carries to 240) with Big Ten-best 1,537 yards and 21 touchdowns. Understands setting up blocks. Not a shifty tackle breaker.
