Porsche 911 GT2 RS MR beats the McLaren Senna at Interlagos

The Porsche 911 GT2 RS has set another lap record at a world-famous racetrack. This time, a 911 GT2 RS equipped with the Manthey Racing kit beat the McLaren Senna’s record at the Interlagos circuit in Brazil.

The 911 GT2 RS MR lapped the track in 1 min 36.967 seconds. That’s almost a second faster than the Senna’s record of 1 min 37.856 seconds, which was set back in 2022.

It is powered by a 3.8-liter flat 6-cylinder engine that delivers 700 hp and 553 lb-ft of torque to the rear axle. The Manthey Racing upgrade package gives it slightly more downforce than the standard car. It also has upgraded brakes and suspension.

In 2018, the GT2 RS MR set a Nurburgring lap record of 6 min 40.3 seconds, and has even beaten the Mercedes-AMG One hypercar around ‘The Green Hell.’
