Italian hypercar brand Pagani Automobili has announced a recall of the Utopia over a dashboard panel that may cause the airbag to deploy improperly.
According to the NHTSA, the passenger-side dashboard panel may have been manufactured incorrectly, which can cause the airbag to deploy incorrectly, increasing the risk of injury.
The recall affects only a certain number of 2024 Pagani Utopias delivered to the United States. It is said that the dashboard panel will be repaired by authorized dealers by applying kevlar strips. The repairs will be carried out free of charge.
Owners of the affected vehicles will be notified of the recall between December 9 and 23, 2024.
The Pagani Utopia is the replacement for the Huayra. Currently, there are 8 of these in the US. The hypercar is powered by a 6.0-liter twin-turbo V12 engine that produces 864 hp @ 6000 rpm and 811 lb-ft of torque @ 2800-5900 rpm. It is paired with either a 7-speed automated manual or a proper stick shift with three pedals.
In July, Pagani showcased the Utopia Roadster at the Monterey Car Week.
