Mario gets criticized for writing letter of support for Tory Lanez
On Tuesday, Tory Lanez finally receiving his sentencing of 10 years in prison, after being convicted in December, of shooting Megan Thee Stallion in 2020. The Toronto rapper was found guilty of all three felony accounts, which included assault with a semi-automatic firearm, possession of a concealed, unregistered firearm, negligent discharge of a firearm.
However, Tory did receive credit for almost one year of time served, at 305 days. Furthermore, he is also planning to appeal the sentence on August 15, which is very likely to get denied.
Meanwhile, there has also been criticism for the over 70 letters of support sent to the judge in this case, for Tory. One of them came from Iggy Azalea, and now it’s been revealed that R&B star Mario was the latest to do so. As a result, the “Let Me Love You” singer previously defended this action, in a recent Instagram live session, as his letter has reportedly been surfacing online.
In the letter, Mario emphasized that he’s never seen Tory act in a manner that harmed someone. He also added that he admired how much Tory cares about his family.
