O!Dorian ups his game with “Dancing Brokenhearted”
Pop
O!Dorian is a force of nature and he’s heading your way! He embraces his passion for Popschlager, with his new song, “Dancing Brokenhearted”, which is made for Melodifestivalen and the Eurovision Song Contest!
It’s no secret that Emil Löfström (O!Dorian) has a passionate relationship with Melodifestivalen and Eurovision, and many have wondered when he will…
…O!Dorian wants to ‘bring it home’ and live out his passion in his own music as well. Now is the time. The recordings of the acclaimed series in the podcast Schlagervännerna featuring rejected Melodifestival songs put Emil in touch with Anders Dannvik and Ola Höglund, creators of “Let Your Spirit Fly” (2nd place in Melodifestivalen 2003 with Pernilla Wahlgren and Jan Johansen). Like many others, Anders and Ola had sent in songs that weren’t chosen for competition.
Then when Emil stepped into the spotlight as an artist, they soon asked if he would be interested in singing one of their unreleased songs. He was. “Dancing Brokenhearted” is that song and is written by Dannvik/Höglund, with lyrics by Emil Löfström together with David Slavin. The single is produced by Martin Permer, and we also get two remixes by Dutch producer Matt Pop (Kim Wilde, Ace of Base, Erasure, Steps, Nicki French) as well as one of Peter Johansson (SCALA), as Peters Popshow.
O!Dorian’s first single “Going To The Mecca”, with its accompanying video and remixes, quickly spread around the world and was showered with praise and love from music fans and industry people alike. And that was just the beginning. The song was followed by the singles “Straight” and “Thunder Kiss”, and this summer by “Army Of Lovers”, which was also the official song for this year’s Borås Pride and was guested by Jean-Pierre Barda. O!Dorian has so far been seen on stage in Stockholm, Liverpool, Gothenburg and Karlskrona – and so it will continue. O!Dorian is here to stay. Get used to it!
