Open your ears and your mind with ‘entropele’.
The gentle piano (with cawing birds in the distance), lulls the listener into a false sense of security that very soon gives way to a rampaging wall of sound. Frantic drums, strident guitars, and strings join forces – yet never able to overpower the piano.
This is a song that is best played at 11. Evoking the likes of My Chemical Romance, the lead singer take us on a journey inside his mind and back again. Harmonious backing vocals add to the overall anthemic effect of the song, which erupts with a seeming gong clash, before fading out with the piano, showing us that it’s been in control the whole time. Unlike the scientific principle of entropy, from which the word ‘entropele’ seems to derive, there is clearly order to the song.
The boundless energy and creativity of No Signal is evident in the track, which could find itself as easily in a small studio space as in an arena. While the band is ostensibly classified as alt-rock, their sound defies all genres, and hints of a variety of styles can be found in ‘entropele’.
