It’s 36 or 35 years, depending on which country you live in, that Italian singer and model Sabrina Salerno released her biggest and best known hit, “Boys (Summertime Love)”, and recently she has returned to the stage to perform the song on Italian national television.
Released in May 1987, “Boys (Summertime Love)” went top ten across mainland Europe and sold millions of copies, perhaps it was the beat of the tune or maybe it was the risque video of Sabrina enjoying herself in the swimming pool surrounded by…boys!
The song found an audience further afield in 1988 when it went to No.3 in the UK and No.11 in Australia and Sabrina went on to have further hits with “My Chico” (Italy No.2) and work with British producers Stock Aitken Waterman with her top thirty hit “All Of Me”.
