Some artists save the hits for the end, but when you’ve got as many as Billy Idol does, you start with them and keep them coming the whole show. It’s easy to forget just how many Idol has until they’re presented to you, one after the other, like he did at his Brooklyn tour stop at Kings Theatre on Tuesday night. Opening with “Dancing By Myself,” the 67-year-old onetime Generation X frontman kept energy and his signature lip curl high, with “Cradle of Love,” “Flesh for Fantasy,” “To Be A Lover,” “Eyes Without a Face,” “Mony Mony,” Gen-X song “One Hundred Punks” and more during the main set, which closed out with “Rebel Yell.” By his side was longtime guitarist Steve Stevens who got a solo moment to shine, shrouded in smoke and ripping out big solos and a few Led Zeppelin riffs. Billy, who noted at one point that one of his grandchildren was in the audience, came back for a double-shot encore of “Hot in the City” and “White Wedding.”

Opening the show with no shortage of swagger was Aussie singer-songwriter Alex Cameronwho only had saxophonist/business partner Roy Molloy as backing.

Check out photos by P Squared, along with Billy’s Kings Theatre setlist and a few fan-shot videos, below.
