Aston Martin has just dropped the first teaser of its upcoming V12 convertible, the Vanquish Volante. The new model is all set to make its global debut on March 25.
In terms of its design, the Vanquish Volante will be similar to the coupe, except for its retractable top, which is likely to be made from fabric instead of metal. The rest of the styling will be carried over, including the large front grille and LED headlamps.
The rear section is also expected to be borrowed from the coupe and will feature vertically stacked LED taillights with a carbon fascia in the centre.
The Vanquish Volante will be mechanically identical to the coupe. It will be powered by a 5.2-liter twin-turbo V12 engine. This upgraded unit delivers 824 hp @ 6500 rpm and 738 lb-ft of torque @ 2500-5000 rpm. The engine will be mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox, driving the rear axle via an electronic limited-slip differential.
That being said, the Volante might be slightly heavier than the hard top version, which could affect overall performance.
