Jennie Candlish’s Rosenpur got off the mark on the all-weather when taking a Wolverhampton novice on his last start and he looks an obvious contender as he heads back into handicap company off a 5lb higher mark, with Billy Loughnane replacing George Wood in the plate.
Merrimack has been running with credit in similar events including when second off this mark at Chelmsford and another bold bid can be expected under Sean Levey in this Gamble Responsibly At BetUK Handicap.
Luke Dace’s The Defiant is a regular winner at this track and showed he remains in good heart when second behind Master Of My Fate here on Saturday.
Others to note include Recon Mission and Harry Brown, with the former looking to end a luckless run of 13 straight defeats at this track since his last win here in December 2020.
12.55 Lingfield – Naughty Eyes and Mister McGregor clash
The George Boughey-trained Naughty Eyes impressed when scoring on debut at Lingfield in November before finishing third under the penalty at the same course last month. She lacked a change of gear on that latter effort and the step up to 7f should suit in this Weekly Free Bets With BetMGM Extra Restricted Novice Stakes.
Mister McGregor has finished runner-up on his last two starts and remains a maiden after 10 starts. Officially rated 68, he may prove vulnerable again here.
Archie Watson and Hollie Doyle team up with New Bay filly, Enchanted Way. Fourth on debut, she built on that promise to chase home Lady Justice at Epsom in July and must be considered as she makes her all-weather debut.
2.25 Lingfield – Charlatan and Overnight Oats feature
David Simcock’s Charlatan has been kept busy of late, winning at Southwell before running second at that venue on Friday. Up 5lb, he has the services of 7lb claimer Taryn Langley and cannot be ruled out as he seeks a fifth career success in this Boost Your Acca At BetMGM Handicap.
Overnight Oats racked up a four-timer at the end of last year but has struggled in his last couple of starts. James Owen’s five-year-old will appreciate this drop in class however and is fancied to bounce back.

The penny seemed to finally drop for Roger Teal’s Ellexis last time out at Wolverhampton when she chased home the impressive Caramay. Foreseen is likely to be her main competition stepping down in trip.
