BMW has revealed an interesting take on discreet security with the Concept 7 Protection, a luxury sedan designed to hide bullet-resistant armour behind an otherwise familiar 7 Series appearance.
The extra security comes from thicker bullet-resistant glass, ballistic steel integrated into the doors and fibre-reinforced composites in other areas of the body. BMW has kept these additions out of sight, preserving the sedan’s standard proportions and cabin trim.

An intercom system also allows occupants to speak to people outside without opening a door or lowering a window.
The concept follows the BayB standard for civilian protection vehicles, with resistance to 9mm and .44 Magnum ammunition. Unlike BMW’s existing, more heavily protected 7 Series and i7 models, this study focuses on discreet, handgun-level protection.

Based on the M760e xDrive, the concept combines a 3.0-litre turbocharged inline-six engine with an electric motor, producing 603 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque.
For now, it remains an experiment rather than a confirmed production model.
