The Geely Battleship 700 has made a huge early impression, attracting 43,900 pre-sale orders within just one hour of bookings opening in China. The off-road-focused SUV is scheduled to officially launch on October 10.
Known as the Zhanjian 700 in its home market, the Battleship 700 combines petrol engines with a powerful tri-motor all-wheel-drive system. Buyers can choose between a 1.5-litre turbo producing 161 hp and a 2.0-litre turbo making 215 hp.
The range-topping version is the real deal, producing a combined 1,113 hp. Geely claims it can sprint from 0–62 mph in just 3.95 seconds.
It also promises serious long-distance ability, with up to 305 km (190 miles) of pure-electric range and a claimed combined range exceeding 1,770 km (1100 miles).
Off-road capability has not been forgotten. The SUV gets active hydraulic suspension, CCD damping, along with a 30-degree approach angle, 31-degree departure angle and 233 mm of ground clearance.
