Exclusive! Ferrari 12Cilindri with a manual gearbox may debut in July

It has been almost two decades since the last time Ferrari offered a manual gearbox in its flagship V12 GT. The year was 2007, when Ferrari introduced the 599 GTB Fiorano. While the automated manual transmission with paddle shifters was the norm back then, 30 examples of the 599 GTB came with a 6-speed gated manual.

The 599 GTB was the final V12 Ferrari ever offered with a manual transmission. Prior to this, Ferrari also made manual versions of the 575M Maranello and Superamerica in limited numbers.

Today, these cars are highly sought after among collectors and demand high prices at auctions. Ferrari knows there’s still a market for manual transmission-equipped V12 GTs, which is why they have decided to bring them back.

Sources tell us that Ferrari is likely to introduce a manual version of the 12Cilindri. Like its predecessors, it will be a limited edition and will be offered exclusively to top clients. In other words, Ferrari will decide who gets to own it.

The 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine will remain unchanged. It produces 819 hp @ 9250 rpm and 500 lb-ft @ 7250 rpm. The 8-speed dual-clutch automatic will be replaced with a gated manual, details of which are still unclear.

We’ve been told that a 12Cilindri equipped with a manual gearbox will be revealed to clients during Ferrari Cavalcade scheduled for June 29, 2026, before being unveiled to the world in July.
