Chevrolet has unveiled the most powerful Corvette ever, the 2025 Corvette ZR1.
The Corvette ZR1 sits above the track-focused Corvette Z06 in the brand’s sports car line-up and is the most hardcore version of the current C8 generation. The biggest talking point is its engine.
The new ZR1 is powered by an LT7 5.5-liter twin-turbo V8 featuring a flat-plane crankshaft. It generates 1064 hp and 828 lb-ft of torque and revs to 8000 rpm. To achieve these insane figures, Chevy had to make several modifications to the LT6 V8. The new motor has larger combustion chambers, a new intake system, integrated twin-turbochargers with the exhaust manifold, unique head castings and specific valve train timing & lift profile.
As a result, the ZR1 can cover a quarter-mile in under 10 seconds and has a top speed of over 215 mph. To stop the car from such great speeds requires some serious stopping power, which is provided by 400 mm discs at the front and 390 mm at the rear.
The Corvette ZR1 comes with a carbon fibre aero package, which includes intake ducts, a flow-through hood and a split rear window. The optional ZTK performance package adds a massive rear wing, front dive planes, a tall hood gurney and custom damper settings.
The 2025 Corvette ZR1 is available in coupe and convertible body styles. We’ve been told that it might cost upwards of €200,000 in Europe.
